1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant Canterbury

Academics are seeking a caring and patient 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Canterbury. This is a rewarding role supporting a Reception pupil who requires additional guidance to thrive both emotionally and academically during their first year of school.

What you'll do as a 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception pupil throughout the school day
Assist with play-based and structured EYFS learning activities
Encourage early development in communication, social skills, and phonics
Support the child with emotional regulation and routines
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider EYFS team
Help maintain a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

What we're looking for:

Experience in EYFS or supporting young children
Warm, patient, and reliable approach
Understanding of early childhood development and SEN support
Strong communication and ability to follow individual support plans
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
